15K Gathered for UNBROKEN Center. Results of Birthday Fundraising

This May, Sigma Software celebrated its 23rd birthday and marked it with a Big Birthday Fundraising. The purpose of the fundraising is equipping the UNBROKEN Medical Rehabilitation Center near Lviv, the largest medical space in Ukraine, where adults and children undergo a full cycle of treatment: from emergency care to prosthetics and psychological rehabilitation.

Driven by the aim to help Ukrainian defenders who undergo treatment and rehabilitation in the UNBROKEN Medical Rehabilitation Center, we’ve put all efforts to support and promote our Big Birthday Fundraising.

Fundraising Results

First of all, Sigma Software team members provided their personal donations, but we didn’t stop there. We invited our community, partners, and friends to join our initiative and to help the UNBROKEN Medical Rehabilitation Center become more efficient. Sigma Software Ambassadors organized their own fund raisings to extend the initiative to a larger audience. Thus, our colleague Nick Zharov made a special ukulele giveaway, while our Test Engineer Nazar Kushnir started a personal fundraiser for UNBROKEN during the QA Day hosted at our Lviv office.

To keep the fund raising active and engaging, we organized a series of powerful and creative activities:

  1. Special Panel on fundraising – at DOU DAY tech conference in Kyiv, our team together with representatives from AZOV ONE and UNBROKEN Ukraine shared their experience on how to efficiently raise money for drones, vehicles, medical aid and rehabilitation, even when you don’t have a lot of followers.
  2. A charity run in Lviv with veterans currently undergoing recovery – as part of the fundraising, we hosted a charity run with veterans who stay at the medical center, colleagues from our Lviv office, friends, and even a few pets — everyone came together for a good cause. Around 70 of us gathered to run a symbolic 200 meters with the veterans, and then 5 km more to show one simple truth: we’re here, united, and caring.

  3. A charity puzzle quest – at DOU DAY tech conference in Kyiv, we gave puzzle bracelets in exchange for donations for our fund raising.

  4. A giveaway of our Sigma Cook Book – for donations to the charity run, we presented our culinary book — a project that shares our team’s culinary finds both from Ukraine and around the world.

Due to donations from our colleagues, external donors, and the input from Sigma Software and Sigma Software Unity Fund, we raised and transferred a total of $15,554 to the UNBROKEN center.

We sincerely appreciate every donation and thank everyone for their support of adults and children who undergo treatment in the UNBROKEN Medical Rehabilitation Center. We thank the Lviv City Council and the UNBROKEN specialists and patients for their active involvement in the fund-raising activities, their determination, and strength.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Sigma Software has contributed 5 M USD to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilians affected by the russian aggression. As a socially responsible company, Sigma Software has participated in numerous initiatives aimed at promoting social awareness among Ukrainians, shaping a strong international image of Ukraine, and countering disinformation.
