DevOps Expertise for BRUSA’s Innovative Inductive Charging System

We’ve joined an innovative inductive charging project developed by the Swiss company BRUSA, a leading development service provider for all electronic and mechanical components of e-powertrain.

Sigma Software has started cooperation with BRUSA, developer and producer of the next generation of inductive charging systems for automotive applications. Since it was founded in 1985, BRUSA has played a key role in the global breakthrough in electromobility, and we are excited to contribute to their project with our IT expertise.

Innovative inductive charging project

The project we have joined represents a groundbreaking innovation in electrical engineering. The developed system enables an electric vehicle to charge simply by parking above a charging plate — eliminating the hassle of plugging in, even during rain or when your hands are full. The inductive charging system has already been presented to the public and will soon be available for order as a car option.

The system meets strict safety and performance requirements, including precise detection of foreign and living objects between the two charging plates.

While BRUSA are experts in their field, the increasing digitalization and connectivity of automotive systems require a wide range of IT competences. For this project, specifically, the BRUSA team decided to attract DevOps experts from an external provider to adjust existing CI pipelines and improve the underlying infrastructure. So, Sigma Software offered its services as a software engineering and consulting company with a strong focus on automotive.

Sigma Software experts have undergone a multi-level screening process at BRUSA since the inductive charging project has high-tech and safety requirements to ensure safe and hassle-free use of the system. Luckily, we have skilled and experienced engineers who can satisfy the most demanding requirements. Particularly, the DevOps team at Sigma Software unites more than 50 experts in all major cloud platforms and supports over 100 projects with DevOps services. On top of that, Sigma Software has 21+ years of experience in the automotive domain and delivers to 13 OEMS covering more than 50 markets worldwide.

After the project kickoff, our experts conducted onsite onboarding workshops to gain hands-on knowledge, address technical challenges, and work within a sophisticated hardware environment. The collaboration delivered tangible results — including a significant reduction in build times thanks to the integration of Azure Container Registry and Azure DevOps Artifactory. In some cases, we managed to accelerate builds from two hours to just 20 minutes.

The system promises more fascinating possibilities that need further development. And we are ready to support our client in their implementation with our IT expertise.
