Sigma Software, a global technology and software development company, today announced its status as a founding member of AgenticAdvertising.org (AAO), the governing body behind AdCP (Ad Context Protocol), the open standard defining how autonomous agents negotiate, transact, and optimize advertising campaigns with minimal human interaction.

AdCP is to agentic advertising what OpenRTB is to programmatic: the foundational protocol that enables a publisher-side Sales Agent and a demand-side Buyer Agent to operate in concert, executing complex buying and selling workflows autonomously. In a significant step toward broader industry adoption, AAO recently transferred development of the AdCP Sales Agent to Prebid.org, where it is now maintained as the Prebid Sales Agent, governed under the same open-source community standards as Prebid.js and Prebid Server. AAO retains governance of the AdCP protocol itself, while Prebid stewards the software implementation. The arrangement mirrors the philosophy that made Prebid a cornerstone of programmatic advertising: open access, community ownership and transparency.
