Sigma Software opened a training laboratory at Odesa National Polytechnic University
The training class newly repaired by Sigma Software opened its doors for students of Odesa National Polytechnic University. The opening ceremony took place on September 11th, welcoming the head of Odesa office, Evgeniy Yakovlev, representatives of university administration, and students.
The class was intended for conducting the company`s Agile course, which had been successfully running in different Ukrainian universities. Besides, the classes within the university curriculum such as lectures, workshops, presentations, and practical training will be held here.
“We have been cooperating with Odesa National Polytechnic University for more than 3 years. This is one of the leading technical universities in the South of Ukraine, a member of Tempus project, active participant of IT education development process,” says Evgeniy Yakovlev. “Three years ago we launched here the Agile course and received a great support from University administration and professors System Software Engineering department. IT experts from Sigma Software became mentors for future IT specialists. The course resulted high satisfaction both from the side of mentors and students. The only thing we were missing is a modern and comfortable place to run these courses. That is when the idea of opening own training laboratory appeared.”
The company made major repair of the premises, provided required accessories and workstation for a teacher.
“The students today follow the BYOD trend, which stands for bringing own devices to the trainings at the university. Some of them use tablets, others own notebooks. Keeping in mind this trend, we have tried to make the class as comfortable as possible and provide flexible and cozy learning environment for all students,” adds Nataly Potapova, Head of Training department at Sigma Software. “The company`s classes are opened in several Ukrainian universities. This approach for cooperation is not something new, though it has proved to be very effective. Such training laboratories help students and teachers to find new inspiration for work and learning.”
"We appreciate partnership with Sigma Software. They do not declare education support only, they are actually deeply involved in the process improvement. The opening of new class is very important and valuable event for us, a new stage of cooperation. I believe more interesting joint projects await us in the future,” says Vera Liubchenko, Head of System Software Engineering department of Odesa National Polytechnic University.
