On March 31th the regional finals of the students contest “Golden Byte” took place in Odessa. Sigma Software became the contest sponsor and awarded the winners with valuable prizes.

Every year STEP Computer Academy organizes one of the most popular competitions among students in Ukraine — the “Golden Byte” contest. Why is this event so interesting and important for future IT professionals? There are at least three reasons for it. First of all, this is a chance to try their luck among the best young specialists in Ukraine in Information Technology, Design and Communication areas. Secondly, young people can get real support for their creative ideas. And at last, young professionals are encouraged to develop their own projects. The contest was held in several nominations such as NoSQL Expert, Startup Сhallenge, Mobile Development, Networking technologies, Game Design, Best in Cloud, Character Design, Web-design, Short Мovie.

Sigma Software became a contest sponsor and prepared great presents for winners in Game design nomination. The first place got the team, which developed a game named “Cuddle me to sleep”.

“This game is quite off-beat: the gamer should overcome obstacles through memorizing and playing different melodies with flute built into the interface. “Cuddle me to sleep” is notable for its clear idea, unusual and reach interface and high interactivity. So no wonder it actually became the best. We wish the champions every success in the future,” shares Evgeniy Yakovlev, Head of Educational Programs at Sigma Software Odesa office.

It’s a great pleasure to work with Sigma Software,” said Alex Tumanoff, Head of Software Development Faculty at STEP Computer Academy. “We do our best to contribute to the development of the IT industry in Ukraine, and help young people to grow professionally. I would like to thank you for your constant support over the past few years.”

“Golden Byte gives amazing opportunities for young specialists! I would like to thank all participants and organizers for this event, which helps students to improve their knowledge, receive practical skills, believe in themselves, generate bright ideas,” comments Nataly Potapova, Head of Training Department at Sigma Software.
