Sigma Software Partners in Launching Tech IT Hub in Berlin

A dedicated space highlighting the strength, resilience, and global relevance of Ukraine’s IT industry – Tech IT Hub – is launched in Berlin as part of a landmark initiative Unity Hub for Ukrainians in Europe. Sigma Software has partnered with Diia.City Union and Kharkiv IT Cluster to support the opening of the first Tech Hub and give visibility to meaningful ecosystem actors, such as Defence Builder, Dovkolo Club, and others.

On April 15, first Unity Hub for Ukrainians starts working in Berlin. The Hub is designed to help millions of Ukrainians abroad maintain strong ties with Ukraine by providing access to education, employment, business opportunities, and government services.

The opening of Unity Hub Berlin is supported by the European Union and the German government. Germany became the first country to sign a joint declaration with Ukraine on establishing Unity Hubs, underlining its role as a key partner in supporting Ukrainians displaced by the war.

The Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, Denys Ulyutin, Deputy Minister Ilona Havronska, and the Federal Minister of the Interior of Germany, Alexander Dobrindt visited Unity Hub Berlin on the eve of its opening.

Tech IT Hub: A Gateway to Ukraine’s IT Ecosystem

Part of Unity Hub Berlin is devoted to technology. Called Tech IT Hub, it provides Ukrainians in Germany with access to verified information about the Ukrainian IT sector and opportunities to remain professionally connected to Ukraine. Sigma Software joined forces with Diia.City Union and Kharkiv IT Cluster to launch the space in partnership with KSE, SoftServe, and National Contech Cluster.

Visitors to the Tech IT Hub can learn more about leading Ukrainian technology companies, key industry associations, and Diia.City, Ukraine’s special legal and tax framework for technology businesses.

Sigma Software Group for Tech Ecosystem

For Sigma Software, participation in the Tech Hub is a natural continuation of the company’s long-term commitment to the development of the Ukrainian tech ecosystem and promoting it both in Ukraine and abroad.

We presented impactful ecosystem initiatives that we initiated or supported, including:

  • Dovkolo Club – a local services recommendation platform for Ukrainian living abroad, created by a team from Sigma Software and supported by our venture wing Sigma Software Labs. Their platform currently features 700 businesses across 31 countries. Dovkolo Club just launched an online marketplace featuring Ukrainian products for easy ordering in Europe from Ukraine, thus providing Ukrainian businesses an easy pathway to customers in Europe.
  • Defence Builder – Ukraine’s accelerator for defense tech startups, founded by our venture fund Sigma Software Labs together with Kyiv School of Economics and Buntar Aerospace, announced a strategic leadership transition as the organization enters its next phase of growth and expansion to European and Western allies.
  • Respeecher – a voice-cloning pioneer product. By enabling authentic voice reproduction, Respeecher is changing storytelling and production workflows in the entertainment industry, including text-to-speech models and an easy-to-use API. Its technology is featured in four Oscar-nominated films and in Tech Hub – giving the voice to AI-assistant Olesya that answers Tech Hub visitors’ questions.

“The Tech Hub in Berlin is more than a workspace—it is a bridge that allows Ukrainian tech professionals to stay connected to their home country, its economy, and its innovation community,” said Oksana Myronko, Deputy Government Relations Director at Sigma Software.

More Than Technology

Besides innovative technology and ecosystem initiatives, Sigma Software Group brought a special art project to Tech Hub. This project was created in 2022 by Sigma Software together with art platforms Volunteer Project “To warriors from artists,” Farbovany Lys, charity fund “Always Ukraine,” and Victoria Gardens mall. Its purpose was to support Ukrainians and lift their spirits. Best street artists from all 25 regions of Ukraine united to create a powerful message in the style of their region on a 6×6 meter piece of wall under the slogan: “We will stand, we will win.”

Social Art Project by Sigma Software

The mural was named “United by Victories” and gained recognition among thousands of Ukrainians. To show the project to the world, we created replicas of the murals that have already traveled to Sweden, Germany, and Poland. Now the murals exhibition will find a temporal home in Berlin – it will stay in Unity Hub Berlin for three years, sending visitors a message from their home region.
