Sigma Software Strengthens International Collaboration at Events with U.S. State and Business Stakeholders

Sigma Software leaders participated in meetings and impactful events held in Washington, D.C., at the beginning of February as part of Ukrainian Week and the U.S.-Ukraine Tech Partnership Initiative.

Ukrainian Week is an impactful annual event with over 1,000 visitors. It aims to enhance U.S.-Ukraine relations by bringing together political, business, religious, and academic leaders.

The U.S.-Ukraine Tech Partnership Initiative is a delegation of top Ukrainian IT companies organized by StrategEast, Diia.City.Union, and Kharkiv IT Cluster with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. This initiative helped expand international cooperation, bringing together businesses, investors, and policymakers to explore new tech opportunities.

The two events ensured an intensive program and packed agenda. Representing Sigma Software Group, Artem Petrenko, Executive Vice President at Sigma Software Group, Katherine Tuluzova, CEO at Sigma Software U.S., and Daria Yaniieva, Investment Director at Sigma Software Labs, joined Capitol Hill meetings with the Congressional Ukraine Caucus, CEPA Roundtable on dual-use and defence tech, and strategic talks with the U.S. Department of State on Ukraine’s recovery programs and the role of our tech companies.

They explored digital transformation projects with the World Bank and the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. They connected with top U.S. companies during Business Matchmaking facilitated by Katherine Tuluzova, CEO at Sigma Software U.S. Our representatives joined the U.S.-Ukraine Business Forum organized by the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), of which Sigma Software Group recently became a member.

The discussions focused on deepening business ties and long-term partnerships between the two countries, reconstructing and recovering Ukraine, and prospective areas of cooperation: dual-use technologies, cybersecurity, and deep tech. Much attention was devoted to integrating the Ukrainian ecosystem with the American one to facilitate state and business connections, company matchmaking, and procurement procedures.

Artem Petrenko, Executive Vice President at Sigma Software Group, spoke at the US-Ukraine Business Forum at the Peace Through Strength: Building panel. Secure Ukraine with Defence and Tech Cooperation, alongside Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, Charles Dean, Vice President at AeroVironment, and Dana Linnet, President & CEO at The Summit Group DC.

In his speech, Artem underscored Sigma Software’s fundamental role in the global tech and defence sectors. He highlighted the rapid evolution of defence technology in Ukraine, noting the emergence of over 3,000+ tech solutions in this sector—a significant increase from previous years. Sigma Software actively contributes to this growth as a co-founder of the Defence Builder Accelerator, which, in partnership with key stakeholders, empowers startups to develop advanced technologies, secure investments, and establish strategic collaborations.

The panel discussed AI-driven defence solutions, cybersecurity advancements, and dual-use technologies. Artem emphasized the IT sector’s and tech talent’s critical role in accelerating innovation and meeting the dynamic needs of modern defence.

Daria Yaniieva, PhD, Head of Defence at Sigma Software Group, Investment Director at Sigma Software Labs, and Board Member at Defence Builder Accelerator, participated in the events focused on defence and tech innovations that drive cooperation between the countries’ defence industries.

“Ukraine has a strong tech talent pool that is boosted by the IT industry. Both tech talents and advanced IT industry play a key role in the development of defence tech solutions – through donations, investments, procurement, pro bono projects, sharing expertise and best practices that help create better defence tech solutions.

IT and defence tech are top priorities for development of cooperation between Ukraine and the USA. By creating strong innovative solutions in these areas, Ukrainian companies can integrate into the U.S. market, build strong partnerships, and remove barriers between the ecosystems.”
