Sigma Software Unity Fund Joins Forces with NPO Quartermaster
March, 2025 - The charitable organization Sigma Software Unity Fund, founded in 2022 to help the Ukrainian army and civilians suffering from the war, has signed an agreement with Quartermaster for Ukraine, a Swedish non-profit organization engaged in charitable activities in Ukraine.
Sigma Software Unity Fund and Quartermaster will collaborate in their efforts for charity work, defense promotion, and support for the people of Ukraine. The partnership seeks to foster mutual support, coordination of activities, and the strengthening of relations between Sweden and Ukraine.
Both organizations have been working to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience and helping Ukrainians in their time of hardship since 2022. So, they’ve decided to coordinate their efforts to maximize the impact of their charitable actions in Ukraine. Sigma Software Unity Fund and Quartermaster will share resources, information, and knowledge in a timely manner to facilitate efficient collaboration.
Quartermaster was founded in 2022 by Jonas Rydin, a Swedish serial entrepreneur and defense investor working in Ukraine since 2007. Dedicated to providing essential training and tactical medical supplies directly to the defenders of Ukraine, by 2025, Quartermaster had delivered $20 million to aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including medical bags, tourniquets, field rations, drones, and vehicles.
Jonas Rydin, Founder of Quartermaster, says:
“For over three years, we’ve supported the Ukrainian Army with medical aid and provided training. By combining our efforts with Sigma Software Unity Fund, we will facilitate our logistics and financial operations, expand activities and start joint initiatives to promote awareness across our two countries.”
Jonas, whose main business, currently, is as an investor and board member with focus in the defense industry, has also recently accepted a position as a Senior Advisor for Defence Builder, Ukrainian defense startup accelerator. Having over 15 years of experience in this area, Jonas can provide valuable advice to Ukrainian startups, thus helping with the development of the country’s defense sector.
Sigma Software Unity Fund has transferred over $5 million since 2022 to the Ukrainian Army and civilians. The Fund holds fundraising initiatives and fulfils various projects aimed at strengthening city security, restoring infrastructure, assisting civilians, and supporting the army. During the previous year, the Fund had covered various requests from Ukrainian defenders, including equipment, Starlinks and electronics, computers, purchase and repair of vehicles, construction equipment, drones, and Ecoflow stations.
Among the most notable projects of Sigma Software Unity Fund was a large fundraising campaign in honor of Sigma Software’s 22nd birthday in partnership with the Kharkiv IT Cluster. We managed to raise about $43,000 to support an important project to develop a system for protecting Ukrainian cities. Besides that, the Fund helped Kherson city after the dam explosion, supported Janika Merilo`s project aimed at finding Ukrainian kids illegally relocated to russia, donated to Okhmatdyt Hospital after the enemy shelling, provided equipment of a training room for FPV drone pilots based in hospitals together with “Patients of Ukraine” and more.
Serhii Yevdokymov, Head of Sigma Software Unity Fund, shares:
“Sigma Software Unity Fund was established to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and help civilians living on the front line and under occupation. Every day we strive to find new ways to perform these goals and do it more efficiently. Quartermaster, consistently and persistently, is providing medical supplies and medical training to our Army. I am confident that together, we can optimize and expand our support, making it more structured, effective, and comprehensive.”
