Sigma Software University Project Wins DOU Award 2025, Initiatives of our Partners Recognized

DOU Award is an annual IT development recognition organized by the largest Ukrainian software developers’ community. The award celebrates the projects that shape the Ukrainian IT community and drive the country’s technological development.

On March 20, 2025, the final of the DOU Award took place, where the winners in 12 nominations were announced. Teachers’ SmartUp project by Sigma Software University — a unique professional development project for educators aimed at improving the quality of teaching and bringing curricula and educational methods up to date — won in the category Best Non-Profit Initiative Contributing to the Development of the IT Industry.

The project is free of charge and covers all regions of Ukraine, advancing the IT industry via its crucial part – educators. More than 6,800+ teachers from more than 100 educational institutions have completed this intensive program to make their courses more efficient and in line with current tech trends.

Besides this meaningful victory, several other projects of our partners and friends made it to the top 10s in several nominations:

• Girls in Tech project by Star for Life – Best Socially-Oriented IT Initiative category

• UNICORN startup contest by Sigma Software Labs – Best Non-Profit Initiative Contributing to the Development of the IT Industry

• Defence Builder co-founded by Sigma Software Labs – Most Impactful IT Company Initiative Bringing Victory Closer

• Buntar Aerospace that co-founded Defence Builder accelerator with us – Most Promising Project in the Defense Tech Industry.

We would also like to mark Spendbase, recognized as a startup with the most potential at DOU Award. In 2024, Spendbase became the winner of our UNICORN startup contest and presented Ukraine in San Francisco in the finals of the Startup World Cup.
