Sigma Ukraine opens new classroom at KNURE
The classroom, equipped with Sigma Ukraine assistance, was opened on December 2nd at Kharkov National University of Radioelectronics (KNURE).
A new classroom at KNURE — is company`s contribution to the improvement of young IT professionals education quality.
Classroom is equipped with Wi-Fi access point, information boards on Agile software development, whiteboards and scrum boards. Along with university classes, special trainings on Agile technologies are already carried out in the classroom. Together with KNURE professors and leading professionals of Sigma Ukraine, professors of Sweden Linnaeus University are involved in educational process. Classes with them are held through online conferences.
Upon trainings completion Sigma Ukraine professionals will take part in students` grading. "This aspect is very important, — underlined Tatyana Shatovskaya, head of "Career " center. — When students` work is graded by employers, not professors only, it gives a positive effect on academic progress and desire to learn. "
A growing number of universities come to understanding that cooperation with business is essential and productive. A format of joint trainings allows students to quickly adapt to work in a company and get skills valued on labor market.
"We try to work on a wave of new technologies. This year we organized NETwork Conference, visited by well-known experts, and last year carried out Agile Base Camp conference. With the opening of classroom on Agile at KNURE, we`d like to bring advanced methods of projects` implementation to educational process, so students could study them on practice and could join IT companies` teams easily after graduation,” — says Valery Krasovsky, COO at Sigma Ukraine.
"It`s great, that Sigma Ukraine is not limited to participation in job fairs, competitions and exhibitions, but is actively involved directly in training process, — underlined KNURE rector Mikhail Bondarenko. — This is the key to successful cooperation between company and university."
