Sigma Ukraine supported IT Jam 2011 in Odessa
IT Jam 2011 was held in Odessa on 20th of August and gathered developers all over Ukraine. The event welcomed over 1500 IT people and more than 55 speakers, who shared their knowledge and experience on a various IT topics.
Being held for several years, IT Jam has become a well-known conference among Ukrainian developers and IT professionals. The conference agenda is usually packed with a lot of topics covering a whole host of areas of interest: Web development, Java, .NET, and mobile to name a few. This, along with rich networking opportunities, explains the popularity of the event.
In 2011, IT Jam continued a good tradition of consolidating and uniting Ukrainian IT industry. This year, not only Sigma Ukraine was one of the event sponsors, but the company’s CTO Dmytro Lapshyn also gave a talk on reasonable adoption of Agile.
"I was glad to share my experience on where Agile works best, where it does not work “by the book” and requires thorough tailoring, and where it is necessary to consider something else" — said Dmytro Lapshyn.
The conference also featured a panel discussion on young generation of IT specialists and IT education problems held by the top managers of major Ukrainian IT companies.
"It is a great possibility to meet old friends, find new contacts, and hang out with colleagues. Everybody could find something interesting there as talks were given on a variety of subjects," — says Anastasia Kladova, Sigma Ukraine PR manager.
More than 25 Sigma Ukraine’s employees attended IT Jam. The company`s Odessa office plans to actively support future events aimed at developing the local IT community in Odessa.
