Sigma Ukraine supports Golden Byte student contest
In February Sigma Ukraine sponsored the prize in 'Best Mobile App' category in the Golden Byte student contest in Odessa and was elected as one of the jury members.
Golden Byte, organized by Computer Academy 'SHAG,' is the biggest Ukrainian student technology competition. It brings together student innovators from 13 Ukrainian cities for the 5th time and is sponsored by a number of companies, including Microsoft and Intel – now also Sigma Ukraine. This year Golden Byte gave away more than 500.000 UAH in prizes.
Before that, in Autumn 2013, Sigma Ukraine organized SmartApp (smartapp.in.ua) student contest, and now the winners of SmartApp took part in the Golden Byte finals.
"We are very glad to cooperate with Sigma Ukraine and welcome them as our partner," says Alex Tumanoff, Head of Software Development Faculty at 'SHAG' Academy. "We work together on a number of events, such as Odessa .NET and Java User Groups, and it’s very pleasing to extend our cooperation with student contests – Golden Byte and SmartApp."
Sigma Ukraine Project Manager Irene Avetisyan was one of the jury members and took part in finals to greet the winner of 'Best Mobile App' category with prize.
"Mobile apps development is one of Sigma Ukraine's quickly evolving business areas," says Valery Krasovsky, Sigma Ukraine COO. "This is the field where fresh ideas and imaginative young minds, open to innovations, play a significant role. So we’re happy to help talents grow and encourage their progress as developers."
